The Magician’s Nephew
For a school project, we had to make a 1 minute book trailer. I choose to make the about ‘The Magician’s Nephew’, the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia bookseries. In this book two children travel trough other worlds, and meet many people and strange worlds on their path.
There is a lot of mystery and wonder I wanted to portray in the trailer. As well as the emotional storyline in the book; Digory (one of the kids) wants to find something in these worlds that can help his sick mother.

Kiva
During the minor; Development for Visual Storytelling, me and 5 other people worked on ‘Kiva and the Swampbeast’. We made a Pitchbible and a trailer.
In this mysterious and dangerous swamp, a girl from the city stumbles upon a curious little being. This might make the difference between life and death.
During the making of 'Kiva and the Swampbeast' I explored the role of Character designer.
While working on the trailer I made some layout sketches based of the storyboard, some new character designs and I colored the animation in ToonBoom Harmony.
The team who worked on Kiva and the Swampbeast:

A spread from the pitchbible, with some of the character designs I made.
Some early character design sketches
Concept sketches of an old idea when the story was still being written
Joop
In our first year at St. Joost we had to interview elderly people in Breda, and tell their story. I interviewed Joop; and was inspired by the way she told her story. She had all these books, journals and clippings of everything she’d done. I really wanted to portray her positive outlook on life. I made the video with watercolor, pencil and paper.
Next to that I made a poster. In this period we also had to make some editorial illustrations.
I made a (fake) cover for the 'New Yorker' and 'de Volkskrant' about queer elderly people
Lost Lake
Poster, comic and sketches I made for the project 'Lost Lake'
This project ‘Lost Lake ‘was based of an old Native American legend about an elk warrior. We had to make the story our own. I decided to make it a more modern story.
Apocakids
I once had an idea for a comic, I made this concept art, and that was it.
I still think the idea is cool, and i like the character designs, so who knows! Maybe I’ll continue this one day </3
